Tools of the Trade

Finally in October, I was given access to StudioWorks, an online publishing program. After given access, I was taught how to use it, and I first learned about the Navigation Bar. This is where the more important sections of StudioWorks can be accessed.

Later in the earlier days of October, I learned how to use the tools in Studio Works. I was given an assignment that taught me how to:

  • Create a text box
  • Create a picture box
  • Create a colored background
  • Add a picture
  • Choose a font
  • Choose text size
  • Identify the bleed marker
  • Identify the gutter
  • Use the measurement tool in StudioWorks
  • Measure things in picas
  • Add a stroke

In the middle of October I learned about a few more things like:

  • Identify the trim
  • Change the transparency
  • Add a drop shadow with a gradient
  • Adjust the softness
  • Utilize text-wrapping
  • Add a rounding radius
  • Flip an image
  • Invert an image
